PHOTOGRAPHY
I started getting into photography in 6th grade when my older sister got a Canon EOS Rebel T3 Camera. I became curious. When my sister wasn't home, I would secretly borrow her camera and play around with it. In 7th grade, I took a photography course at my middle school where I learned the basic elements of photography. Ever since, it has been one of my favorite hobbies! Click any image to enlarge.
Portrait
This photograph of my two family friends, Celine Pham and Sophia Pham (left to right), was taken in the winter of 2019. It was the first big snowfall of the season, so we wanted to capture the moment. I chose the Sigma 70-300mm lens and a high shutter speed on my Canon EOS Rebel T3 Camera. In doing so, I was able to cleanly capture the falling snowflakes and create depth in the photograph.
Photomontage
I took this photograph during my trip to Japan in the spring of 2019. I decided to layer the photograph over itself multiple times to create this photomontage. I love the lines of the branches as well as the patterns created through the repetition of the image.
Editing
In 2018, I got to see my favorite music band Brockhampton in concert where I captured this amazing photograph on my iPhone. I used the editing app VSCO to decrease the exposure, increase contrast, increase saturation, adjust the white balance and more. The stage lights went from boring to dynamic. The hands of the audience which were originally chaotic and distracting, turned into bold, dramatic silhouettes. The fog on the stage which originally made the photograph look faded ended up accentuating the performers in the second image.
Portrait
This portrait of my friend Victoria Vu was taken in the fall of 2020. I used the Cannon 18-55 mm lens with my Canon EOS Rebel T3 Camera. I love how the dark background and clarity of the photograph makes Vu look very beautiful and bold! She ended up loving the results of the photoshoot so much and submitted one of the photographs for her senior photo in the yearbook.
Editing
I took this photograph of jellyfish in 2019 when I visited an aquarium in Japan. I used the editing app VSCO to crop the image, increase contrast, adjust white balance and more. In doing so, I was able to transform a dull, uninteresting photograph into a dramatic piece of artwork.
Portrait
Pictured is my friend Sela Gur-Arie and Lauren Jules (left to right) at Nichols Arboretum. I took this photograph in 2018 during the peony season. I love the deep depth of field and how beautifully the details of the peonies were captured.
